I am a queer circus artist based in Helsinki, Finland, specialising in handbalancing, contortion with object manipulation, and vertical rope. My work has moved between cabaret, traditional circus, and contemporary circus, though lately I have focused on contemporary circus and a few cabaret acts.
I hold a BA in Circus from the Arts Academy at Turku University of Applied Sciences in 2015, and have continued my training internationally. I studied circus arts in China at Beijing International Art School and Wuqiao Acrobatic Art School (2010, 2013), and completed a one-month professional vertical rope course at La Bonita Co‑operativa in Barcelona. Alongside my artistic practice, I hold a Master’s degree in Sports Coaching from Loughborough University, with a focus on acrobatic gymnastics (2017–2018).
As a performer, I have appeared in cabarets across the UK and Europe, touring traditional circuses, holiday resorts, gala events, and contemporary circus productions. Highlights include winning the Jury Award at the Golden Karl Circus Festival in Riga in 2015 with a partner acrobatics duo act with circus artist Matti Koskela, and winning the Itu Children’s Theatre Idea Incubator in 2020 with the show Öttiäiset, created with circus artist Rasmus Witikka.
My current artistic interests are around vertical rope, handbalancing, static trapeze, and the combination of acrobatics, handbalancing, and object manipulation. I also have intermediate floor acrobatics skills, as well as group and pair acrobatics, which support both ensemble and duo work.
In the context of contemporary circus, I am especially drawn to trans themes, environmental questions, and worlds with a sci‑fi or dystopian flavour. I also especially enjoy animal characters, imagined sci‑fi creatures, and even inanimate objects.
