Rae Reinvall

Queer Circus Artist, Helsinki, Finland

about me

I am a queer circus artist based in Helsinki, working with vertical rope, handbalancing, contortion with object manipulation, and static trapeze. I have trained at the Arts Academy in Turku with further studies in China, Barcelona, and Loughborough University. My performances in contemporary circus combine acrobatics with current social and political themes, such as trans rights and environmental questions, as well as trans kink in cabaret contexts. Along with trans identities and environmental themes, my work explores sci‑fi‑tinged worlds, often featuring animals, imagined creatures, and objects as living characters.

Cabaret and Gala Acts

Daddy Rae

Daddy Rae is a queer cabaret act for adult audiences. The act features themes of (male) pregnancy and birthgiving kink and is performed with six baby dolls used as objects manipulation equipment alongside acrobatics and handbalancing.

Handstand

This hand-balancing act on canes suits many places and events. It has minimal space requirements for the venue, and it can be performed in relatively small and low-ceiling spaces.

The act can be done both as a more classic variety night style act or a cute and funny cat-themed children’s act

Trapeze

My trapeze act is is a vintage style cabaret act is a uptempo energetic that suits all ages, but can also be a bit cute and flirty for adult audiences. The act features both dynamic trapeze technique, moves stolen from vertical rope and moved to a trapeze as well as show offs of flexibility.

Candelabra act: Acrobatics with object manipulation

My Candelabra act is a slow-tempo act combining acrobatics, handbalancing, and object manipulation of candelabras with real, live, fired candles. The performance has the audience holding their breath from excitement, creating a deeply captivating, hypnotic atmosphere.
